Sherlock Holmes

Adaptations are listed roughly in the order which I read(/listened to/watched/etc) them.

This podcast is how I got into Sherlock Holmes. The basic idea behind it is that Watson records a true crime podcast of Sherlock's cases and it is honestly amazing. I overall really like audio dramas, but this one is one of my favorites.

The original! Haven't read all of it yet but I do like what I have read.

Yeah, so this barely counts, tbh. This isn't so much a Sherlock Holmes adaptation as it is a completely different thing vaguely inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Still, pretty good show.

I don't even really know how to explain this one. It's a tv series (and aparently video game) adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, except it's made with puppets and it's kinda weird.

It's been a bit since I watched it, and the only thing I really remember is Blockson saying "If your brain had a uterus, I would gladly father its children." which only makes a little more sense in context.

This one is a tv adaptation that takes place in India in the 1990s. It's pretty good, although kind of hard to get access to in America.

I'd recomend trying to avoid spoilers, since it definitely makes for a better watching experiance with this one.

The premise of this one is pretty much "what if Sherlock actually wasn't a very good detective, just a magical guy pretending to be one so people don't suspect his powers" and it works decently well.

There were some parts that I thought were kind of stupid, but I still liked it overall.

Each book is a collection of short stories, though they're not as disconnected from one another as the original ACD ones are. It also includes some shorter, I guess I'd call them interlude stories, of Holmes and Watson just sort of chilling. This is pretty much my favorite format even though barely anyone uses it, so that was great for me.

This one is about a supernatural murder that takes place in a cross between the Homes universe and the Lovecraft mythos.

I read the comic and I liked it a lot, though the orriginal short stoy is also pretty good. There's a sort of mounting uncanniness to it that I found quite intriguing.

A lot of the fun of this one comes with the reveals, so if you've not read it, you'll probably not want to be spoiled (or maybe you do, I don't know).
